Walkout by the opposition - who is proud of?

RS passes new Data Protection Bill amid opposition walkout!

Is it something to be proud of?

For the ruling party – YES, they take pride in passing bill after bill without any resistance.

For the opposition – YES, because they were not a party to passing any bill that they were opposed to!

And I think a BIG NO for the opposition as they should have participated and discussed the bill clause by clause or at the least the provisions that they were not in favour of.

They are representing millions in Parliament not just for the sake of becoming MPs but to show their intellect, wisdom and participate in nation-building. They have not been elected merely to oppose the government and walk out of the august house.

It’s a pity that most bills have been enacted over the years without any discussions. Is there no talent and grit left among the honorable members to talk and discuss or are they just becoming a herd of sheep being monitored by a shepherd?

Why shouldn't PM Modi be admired when he touches the steps to the august house treating it a holy place while others just leave the house in masses every now and then?
