Walking Wisely

And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.

Psalm 9:10 (NRSV)

Not many people enjoy going to the doctor, but according to Reuters, in 1994, one London accountant took that to an extreme.? The sixty-three-year-old man knew he needed bladder surgery but he could not overcome his fear of doctors and hospitals. So he self-reliantly did what had to be done: He tried to perform the surgery on himself.? Tragically he got an infection from the self-surgery and later died.? The coroner said, “Unfortunately, (his) drastic remedy went wrong.? A simple operation would have solved the problem”

Just as this man didn’t trust doctors or hospitals, many people don’t trust God.? In their self-reliance, they destroy themselves.

Friend, the dictionary defines “trust” as: firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something.?

Trusting God regardless of what happens in your life is the way of wisdom.? Even though there may be items in your journey that seem confusing or overwhelming, trust God to put them together into an all-inclusive plan for good.? Therefore do not be deceived by the way that conditions appear when life is challenging.? You are looking at the small picture of an even larger picture.? From your narrow view, your journey probably is perplexing, with no way to the end in sight.? However, God has a wider view of your situation.? God definitely is leading you along the right way to live.? Nothing will stand in your way if you walk wisely, and you will not stumble when you run (Proverbs 4:11-12, TEV).

In what are you trusting?? Trust in yourself and you are doomed to disappointment.? Trust in your friends and they will die and leave you.? Trust in money and you may have it taken from you.? Trust in reputation and some slanderous tongue may blast it.? But trust in God and you will never be confounded in time or eternity (Author Unknown).

Rayden wrote, “When you have nothing left but God, then you become aware that God is enough.”

Friend, God fully understands how challenging your journey has been.? God also wants to assure you that God can bring good out of every bit of it.? Remember, God tells you every day, “I am with you.? I love you.? Trust me.? I know your situation.? I have your back.? Please trust me to take care of you.? Please trust me.”

I encourage you.? Walk wisely.? Trust God to bring you to the other side.???
