"Whether it be walking, camping, fishing, or just exploring, time in nature with friends and family always makes me feel better", Charles Thompson, CEO, Park Trek Walking Holidays
Buying into a walking and wellness business made sense to me on so many levels. After 30 years in the legal and corporate world I wanted an entirely different professional challenge. I wanted to bring some corporate nous to a small business and spend more time doing the things I love.
Why do you love time in nature? I like to be in the moment, to slow down and observe the little things. Whether it be walking, camping, fishing, or just exploring, time in nature with friends and family always makes me feel better. It’s great for the body, mind, and soul.

Nature and wellness – is there a link? There’s plenty of evidence to suggest that time in nature is linked to improvements in cognitive function, brain activity, blood pressure and mental health. We also know that nature’s healing properties are enhanced when combined with movement. Walking in nature is a sure way to wellness.
A walk with Park Trek is an offsite with a difference. We’ve all been to offsites where the four walls of your office are exchanged for another four walls. Why not exchange your four walls for the great outdoors? We do all the hard work (get you there, guide you and your team on a walk, feed you, provide you with a comfy bed), all you need to do is enjoy the view and get to know your team better.
Which are the best Park Trek walks for professional groups or friends? Being a Victorian, I’m a bit biased. I love Gariwerd / Grampians, the Great Ocean Walk and either of our Challenging Three Peaks or more relaxed Vic Alps Highlights walk. But we have 3 – 6-day curated walks to destinations all over Australia and can tailor our walks for private groups.
