Walking on Water
Awake, stand up and break the norm.
Enjoy the howling of the storm.
The light descends on those who dare,
On those who love, who dream, who care.
The heartless castigate the weak.
As crowds look on and dare not speak.
What fearful monster of the night has taken up your holy right?
To breathe, to live, to love and speak
The generations past were never weak!
Stand up, look up, your head up high.
From here on Earth behold the sky.
Those who would hurt you tremble must.
Their machinations turn to dust.
The beast retreats and howls in pain.
For all its actions were in vain.
The days of slavery are done.
The children walking all as one.
Why do you cry when you should laugh?
The shepherd leans upon his staff.
And in the sky a distant dream.
Is closer now than it may seem.
So tremble not, nor hide your face.
For in his love, you have a place.
He walks on water for you to see,
What was, what is and what can be.
An empty vessel broken lies.
In darkness under sunny skies.
But those whose heart is still alive,
At deeper levels grow and thrive.
Replace your fear with faith and love,
True wisdom comes from God above.
