Walking and waiting with words
I’ve been carrying this quote around in my metaphorical pocket for days:
Do what you can
with what you have.
Nothing more is needed.
+ Rick Rubin, The Creative Act: A Way of Being, Cannongate, 2023
I sensed it was significant for me and potentially for others.
And while I understood the words, what did they mean?
Sometimes we need to wait with patience for the light to appear.
Because only then will it have done its work in us.
Pause. See differently. Re-story.
~ I wrote yesterday’s poem, Patiently the light, while walking around our cloud-draped valley, musing on these words.
