Walking into the Unknown? with MS. SUCHI

Walking into the Unknown with MS. SUCHI

Most of us are afraid of walking into the unknown, into new experiences because we don’t know what lies on the other side of those experiences. The ‘Unknown’ as the word says, is ‘Not known.’ Another popular name for the Unknown is ‘Change.’ I am sure you must have heard a gazillion times that the Only thing constant in life is Change. And yet, if you were to be brutally honest with yourself, how much of your time do you resist making a necessary change? 50%, 80% or all the times?

There are many reasons you may be resisting change. Chief among them is Fear. Fear of how things will pan out, the constant looping of the mind on what-ifs; what-if things turn out worse than they currently are? You might self-justify or talk yourself out of doing the very things your soul is urging you to do. There is NO blueprint for the unknown; you just have to figure things out as you go; that’s the directive of Change.

Sometimes making a change is as simple as making up your mind on what you are going to do next. Other times, the universe puts you in situations where the only way forward is to embrace change. And then there are times when, unfortunately, it takes the passing of a loved one to let go off the baggage and make space for the new, the unknown.

The intention behind creating ‘Walking into the Unknown’ series is to nudge you to embrace new horizons in your life. In listening to other’s people stories about change, growth, and embracing the unknown, I am hoping you will be inspired to do the same in your life.

My first guest for the series is MS. SUCHI, who is a Laughter Therapist based in Singapore. Suchi is a sought after speaker and regularly conducts Conferences & Seminars, educating people about Health, Wellness, Stress Management, and using Laughter as a means to change the body's energy.

Question: What was the trigger/event/moment that made you decide that you were going to embrace the Unknown?

Suchi: The trigger moment for me happened six years ago when my mom was dropping her physical body. All the changes, the transformations happened suddenly. After her death, I felt confused about my life and my work. At that time, I had been working as a Preschool Principal for 15 years. I was responsible for being an Operating Manager, taking care of the daily operations, taking care of the staff members, managing parents, reporting to Ministry.

After my mom passed away, I no longer enjoyed going to work. I felt as if something was missing in my work, and I needed to do something more than just filing paperwork, doing administrative work, and reporting to the Ministry. I came to the crossroad where I felt this huge desire to help people but not knowing exactly how I can help. I started looking for ways to connect with myself in hopes that it would give me the clarity to move forward. I started spending a lot time in nature, sitting by the water and just relaxing my mind into silence. The more I connected with myself, the more clarity I got on what I need to do next. There were many times I felt as if an invisible hand was guiding me from above.

I will also add that I had zero fear at this time. Because I had recently lost of mom, so I was no longer afraid of death; I had seen it first-hand. My solitude gave me clarity on what I needed to do next. And I was able to take those steps without having a fear of being judged by other people, without being fearful, and just taking one step at a time.

Question: How did the events (of stepping into the unknown) unfold for you?

Suchi: Once I gave in my resignation, I still didn’t know what I was going to do next. But I had this insight that I needed to do something different. Since I was spending much time in silence, I had many visions. In those visions, I had a realization that I am a Soul, and I am a Light body rather than being a mere Human. I read many books during this time because I had so many questions, and no one around could answer them.

It was around this time that I come across a coach who was offering Laughter exercises, and it piqued my interest. I took the laughter workshop and then started going to Elderly Homes, Senior Activity Centers, Hospitals and Workers' Dormitories to meet people and help them in combating stress with laughter therapy. In facilitating these sessions, my main objective was to spread more joy and happiness. I loved offering these workshops, and in a way, I felt I was being guided to offer these therapy sessions.

Soon enough, the word got out, and I started collaborating with influencers to spread my message out in the world. Everyone that I reached out to was super supportive and eager to help. And in general, I felt as if the universe was supporting me grow this body of work.

Question: What are the top 3 lessons you learned from this process?

Suchi: In the past seven years, I have accepted that people come into my life to take my soul to a higher level. Even when it’s an unpleasant experience, it’s just an experience, and I always ask myself – what do I need to learn from this experience? I have learned that crying, brooding over others, name calling gossiping, and getting involved in other’s matters is not a wise choice. I have learned that to make peace with others; I needed to make peace with myself. I needed to accept the way I am and the way I am not. And in doing so, I can accept the way people are, without putting energy or effort into changing them on how I want them to be.

In my mind, I firmly believe that I am a spiritual being having a human experience. I am an unlimited being, and I am here on this planet to fulfill my life’s purpose.

My soul purpose led me to a path of awakening and true happiness. I have come to observe that when you live your soul purpose, your life starts to flow quite naturally.

What keeps me going is the glorious feedback I get from people who attend my laughter therapy sessions. I am proud to share that through my work, I have saved 22 people from committing suicide. When I see the extent of my work, and how it is changing the lives of those around me – it gives me great satisfaction that I am uplifting other souls, sharing happiness, and caring for other people.

In closing,

Trust the universe that it is Always nudging you towards your life purpose. You only need to still your mind into silence to know which path to take.
