Walking for charity app trundl receives external investment to accelerate growth

Founder Hilary Mines Mines welcomes Mark Boyle as a seed investor in trundl, the unique health and wellbeing social business for individual and company membership.

Through Hil’s initial founding investment, together with Innovate UK Grant funds and a lot of hard work and support, trundl has already proved its viability as a walking for charity and wellbeing social business.

Since soft launch launch in April 2022, over ￡9,000 has been donated to the 5 founding charity partners and guests; nearly 50,000 kilometres have been recorded by members through the app; an estimated 750kg of CO2 has been saved; a growing number of companies have signed their staff up to B2B membership and 6 brands have committed to sponsorship of the ongoing community walks.?

Mark’s investment and personal involvement as an active board member will help to accelerate growth across B2B and B2C membership sectors and expand additional revenue opportunities.

‘Mark and I are by no means strangers in doing business together,’ said Hil.

‘Over 20 years ago, we collaborated with our respective ventures in the telecom industry and in 2016 I sold my business to Mark’s then company, Active Business Communications.?I’m really excited that he’s not only joining forces with me, Co-Founder Tess Caven and the trundl team, but also joining the wider ‘force for good’ that is at the heart of trundl’.?

Mark himself sees investment in trundl as a rare chance to become part of a unique social business.

‘I am delighted to be investing in trundl and joining the trundl board’ Mark said.

‘It was clear to me that this was a great opportunity to be involved in a brand that has a distinct business proposition and is already making a difference.

I am looking forward to translating my skills and experience gained in high growth technology businesses over the last 20 years to help trundl rapidly grow both the membership base and revenue streams so that we can truly enrich the lives of the people, businesses and causes that we support’.
