A Walk… Through Darkness!

At 10:00 p.m. The tall man with two ponytails strolled on dark roads lit only by lamp posts. You could watch a few vehicles passing by and no sign of living being so far. A tall man was walking with two ponytails holding his hand. She was jumping while talking and eating her favourite chocolate!

Her favourite thing to do was talk and eat chocolate with him only! This was her favourite time of the day as well.

She was… with her father!

She idolized someone as her hero. Someone she shared all her problems with! Someone with whom she could discuss everything. She treasured him more than anything in her life. He was the person she shared her chocolates with. Life seemed to be tranquil and effortless when with him. He was his role model, and she idealized him a lot!

The night road walk was her favourite she could do every night….

Ten years later…

A 10:00 p.m. walk with the lampposts on a different road of life. An environment of quietness with nobody moving. They could hear only the noises of a few vehicles. Wrapped hair in a bun, hoodie and a go-to backpack on her shoulder with phone in hand. This was walking a 5ft 4 inches girl with a tall man. She was trying to cope with him, almost running while him walking at the same speed as ten years ago.

She recalled this was her first love with him. She loved everything with him… She realized how they used to be. She remembered how he talked and listened to all her stories. She remembered everything!

The eyes filled with tears, ready to flow… she looked upon him. Now he was walking, not looking behind for her. She fell in this marathon to reach his speed of walk. The third time when she trembled, she recalled how he used to feel the pain and cared for her whenever she got hurt…

The memories are worth remembering but excruciating to hold! She could feel the pain going up through the veins in her heart!

The night walk on the dark road was her favourite… but now she prayed to never have a hike like this! She wished never to have it again in her life! She wished…
