The Walk of Life at 70

The Walk of Life at 70

Dear LinkedIn readers,

I am excited to share a personal story with you on my birthday today. I hope all of you are having a fantastic day. Turning seventy is a significant milestone, prompting reflection on the journey of my life. Allow me to share how I approached this introspection.

I started by calculating the number of days I have spent on this planet: a total of 25,567 days. Grateful for this remarkable figure, I decided to symbolize each day as a step. Walking alongside my daughter Lentle, we covered 25,567 steps, equivalent to an 18.2 km journey (with each step measuring approximately 70 cm). During this walk, we revisited key periods of my life – childhood, college, army, marriage, first job, the arrival of my kids, entrepreneurship, and up to the present moment.

For each life stage, I posed several questions: "What went well?" "What did I enjoy?" "What didn't go so well?" The final and crucial question, borrowed from Brian Tracy, was simple: "If I could do it over again with the knowledge I have now, what would I do differently?"

The overall outcome was positive, and I find myself content and fulfilled. I extend my best wishes for the same to all of you. My approach to handling challenging periods involved seeking lessons in every situation, swiftly focusing on solutions, and avoiding despair. I avoided the boulevard of broken dreams and the valley of excuses, adhering to a formula:

?

Acknowledge reality as it is, even when emotions run high.

Focus on the problem at hand, necessitating a proactive approach.

Seek appropriate solutions, acknowledging the difficulty at times.

Implement the solutions, walking the talk.

Accept that success is not guaranteed in every situation.

As I continue my life journey, I remain committed to living my passion daily – inspiring and motivating others to achieve their goals. To achieve this, I will persist in asking impactful coaching questions.

Wishing you all an excellent 2024. May your life journey be filled with happiness and success.

Cheers!
