Initiative and Excellence

For me personally, March holds another (and again for me, primal) New Year (Naw Ruz) ... and I see it as an opportunity to reset for the next year. As I approach that day, and the Year 179 BE, I am focusing on my blogging and vlogging, with Purpose in mind and heart. Here are five initiatives that will mark the New Year and forward.

virtuousCITY

• With virtuousCITY, I explore the work of The Virtues Project and its Five Strategies for real results... real time, real world... on the ground. This is a space where we get to explore the use of these strategies for building cultures of character at home, school, work, business and community. This is a space where we dig a little deeper on language, learning, boundaries, honoring and presence... as educators, entrepreneurs, emerging leaders and anyone interested in building such cultures of character and purpose driven leadership and education. We dig in monthly, and I invite you to join me.

Sharpen the Blades

• Here, weekly, I share on personal reflections and insights in "sharpening the blades" around Character and Purpose and Unity in my own life. It is about how I ever better take the swings, small and big, in living my own best life, if you will. I share thought that might have value for others; but through the lens of my own experience swinging the bat each day.

My Own Perception

• This is my weekly spiritual reflection. As a Baha'i, I am interested in where the spiritual rubber hits the proverbial road. I am digging into some Writings and how they might be relevant to life and living and working, for me... and any others who might be interested. These Writings are dug into beyond "face value" to look at how they might manifest at home, school, work, business and community. And, it is my own perception offered here, for what that might be worth.

• On a monthly basis, we offer up a body of some 10+ long form conversations around community, leadership, thought and ideas and innovation, Justice, Humanity, health, environment, immigration, character and more. These conversations I share in with wonderful co-hosts and with guests who bring their thought ... in conversation. Content rich and fun. You can pull up a chair and a hot beverage and listen in. Here, we look at mindful leadership. Monthly, we dive into an exploration of Organizational Behaviour... and matters around perception, personality and temperament, emotional intelligence, values, attitudes, beliefs, motivation, stress, leadership, teamwork, communications, conflict, negotiations, power, decision making,?Creativity, ethics, culture and change.?With my own 27 years teaching on "OB", we will monthly break some things down for real world application and results. Again, I invite you to join me.

Studentry is the Path

I humbly suggest and contend that studentry is the only real mastery. Expertise is not a destination, but a life long journey of Excellence.

If we want to make a true difference at home, school, work, business and community... it is not about perfect as noun, for that is a myth. It is about perfect as a verb, for that is our best reality. I believe and contend that this is important in advancing education... in moving the needle on true wealth... in exploring meaning... and how we manifest our best countenance and gait.

And, it is my LIFE/work.... within and without. Ultimately, it is what I do.... in Service of Teaching and Business and Caring ... and more.

The world has its challenges and these times will have change and work to do. We will need our Creativity and our Character.

I will be exploring such and same... and hoping you find a way to join us on the journey.
