Faith King continues to spotlight our Promise Garden flowers in her weekly Albany #Walk2EndAlz feature on WNYT NewsChannel 13. Today, she spotlights a story from someone many of you know - Todd Shimkus, one of our newest board members and President of the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce. Todd used to hold a yellow flower, but, sadly, last year, that changed to purple after he lost his mom, Amy, to the disease. He wrote a book, "I'm Not Ready For This," about the struggles of caring for Amy while she was in a memory care unit during COVID-19 - all proceeds are benefiting his Walk team, Amy's Army. You can watch all of this week’s stories here: https://wnyt.com/walk-to-end-alzheimers/
If you've lost someone to Alzheimer's or another dementia, join us at the Albany Walk this Saturday, Oct. 21 at Siena College. #ENDALZ
