Waking Up From a Coma

Imagine waking up in a hospital bed, surrounded by your friends and family. You? have no memory of your past, and you’re told that you've been in a coma. But as you look around the room, you see pictures and videos of yourself speaking in front of large crowds, proclaiming yourself to be the world' s best public speaker. You may have even been afraid of public speaking before, but now you' re seeing evidence that you've overcome that fear and become an expert in the field. Now obviously, you can interchange this with any professional or dream you wish, public speaking is the vision I used for this example.?


This scenario may seem far-fetched, but it serves to illustrate the power of our mindset. If we believe something to be true, we're more likely to notice evidence that supports that belief, and vice versa. To me this is what I believe the law of attraction to be. If we want a red car, for example, we'll start to notice more red cars on the road. This doesn't mean that there are suddenly more red cars on the road, but rather that our focus and attention are drawn to the red cars that were always there.


As you embark on this journey, it's crucial to define what you want for the 100 days ahead. Do you desire a joyful, uplifting experience that fills you with inspiration and empowers you to take control of your life? Or would you rather face a difficult, stressful journey full of negativity and frustration? Remember, the power lies with you to shape your mindset accordingly.


If you choose to focus on the positive, you will start to see more opportunities and good things in your periphery. Conversely, if you choose to focus on the negative, you'll start to notice more obstacles and challenges. It's essential to be intentional with your thoughts and choose to focus on the positive.


I know some of you may think it's not that simple. What about those who have experienced depression or come from abusive households, impoverished communities, or have lost loved ones? But even in the darkest of places, there is always goodness to be found. I have seen it firsthand in my travels and work in impoverished communities around the world.?


I remember vividly when I led a sports diplomacy initiative in Haiti's Cite Soleil with the US Government, one of the world's most dangerous areas. Despite the harsh living conditions, I witnessed a young boy and girl, seemingly siblings, walking to school holding hands in matching uniforms. It was a moment that reminded me that hope, goodness, and appreciation are always present, no matter the circumstances.


We have the power to choose what we focus on and consume in our lives. This journey is about taking control and allowing the experiences we desire to shape our lives. It's up to us to be the directors of our stories, not the victims.


Remember, the choice is yours. You have the ability to shape your own reality. Start day one, today, with a positive, empowered mindset, and watch as your weeks unfold in alignment with your vision and desires.


The Next Right Move for the Day:


Think : Reflect on areas of your life where your mindset plays a role in shaping your experiences. Do you find yourself leaning towards the negative or positive?


Feel: Connect emotionally to the idea of having control over shaping your reality through just your mindset.


Do : Take immediate action by identifying one specific mindset shift you would like to make this week and actively focus on it throughout the day.


Say: "I have the power to shape my own reality by what I choose to focus on."
