There are times in our lives when we all need a "Wake up Call"

The dreaded call needed but not always wanted wake up call!

Who enjoys the buzz of a hotel alarm that is louder than expected, has an annoying chime and because its not your regular clock, you cant find the shut off button? Yea, the dreaded wake up call.

It can have different meanings. Sometimes we get a wakeup call about our health. Sometimes its our finances or our relationships. No one wants to be shocked into reality with these so called wake up calls.

You find out you own money to the IRS or your doctor tells you that you have some new issue you did not expect. Your girlfriend or wife is creating distance from you. Or your business is bleeding and you do not have solutions. Are you numb to life or do you need a real wake up call? Stop telling yourself what you are not willing to accept. The bottom line is this I believe calls for a higher power. Alcoholics have embraced these words in the twelve steps programs. Not all of us need 12 steps but many of do need more confidence, more resilience, more patience, more self care than we admit. We live in a society of wanting instantaneous gratification to everything and it is not sustainable or healthy to live that way. The higher power says it this way:

The Serenity Prayer: To accept the things I cannot change: Courage to change the things I can: And wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking as he did this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that he will make things right if I surrender to his will. So that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with him Forever and ever in the next. Amen

The only way to turn off that annoying buzzing is to deal with it. But in life, we can admit that at times, we would prefer to rip the damn thing out of the wall socket and throw it across the room shattering it against the wall. When we do not like what is happening to us or when we do not feel the good vibes, it works negatively on our being.

We all want to thing and behave normally and reasonably. The opposite of that is insanity when is unreasonable, not normal and behaving not the way we should. The other day, I had a great call with a Canadian wellness director who said we are either working to either be on a path of self destruction or self discipline.

So wouldn't you rather be a disciplined person? A disciplined person takes time to face the truth and then create a path of change to a desired outcome. A disciplined person challenges themselves. A disciplined person removes limiting beliefs. A disciplined person removes bad habits. Take time to see where your wake up calls are and instead of hitting the snooze button, get after it and wake up. Be willing to attack things with real desire. Half assing is not a contact sport. I will do it tomorrow is a cop out.

Progress equals happiness and growing makes us feel alive. The difference between abundance and scarcity is mindset. When your ready for your own personal wake up call, groups like mine are sitting in the room waiting to hear your story. We all have one. The best mentors are those who have also mastered their own weaknesses. A wake up call is not always a bad thing, it can be the stimulus we needed to get going. A few years ago, I took the P90X workout program. What I remember of it were the words of the P90X guy at https://powernationfitness.com, Tony Horton coined it as "Just Push Play".
