Wakanda, Does It Exist in the Real World?

Jakarta 13 December 2023 - Wakanda is a fictional country created by Marvel, the country of Black Panther. First time Wakanda was mentioned and appeared is in the Fantastic Four film created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. And the movie release of the Black Panther in 2018 and Wakanda Forever in 2022 shows the advancement of Wakanda technology built by Shuri which was used against Namor and the Talokan troops.

Actually, Wakanda is similar to Sokovia, the place of origin of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, or like Kamar-Taj, the location where the Ancient One trained Doctor Strange. The existence of these fictional locations is because in the past, the Marvel comic creation team did not know in detail about the geographical conditions of locations outside America.

Marvel uses Wakanda to show that superheroes can come from anywhere, including from the African. So, after successfully attracting the African market share or those of African descent with the country of Wakanda, Marvel is now starting to expand into the Asian market share by creating the figure of Shang-Chi. All of this is Marvel's strategy to attract more viewers without any ethnic, racial or cultural barriers.

So, will Marvel also expand its market share in the Southeast Asian region such as Indonesia? where many people mention the country of Wakanda on various social media networks.

Not only the Americas, Africa and Asia, Indonesia may also need a Marvel superhero figure who can lead the superheroes that previously existed in Indonesia such as Gundala, Merpati, Sri Asih, Godam, Volt, Aquanus, Tira, Wiro Sableng, Virgo, Pangeran Mlaar , etc.
