Waiting is the Hardest Part

I might be dating myself, but in 1981 Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers released a song called “The Waiting.” The chorus of the song reminds us that the most difficult moments in life are often those spent anticipating what is to come. Better said is that patience is very difficult! Waiting for things to unfold in our lives take faith, hope, and trust- – faith in people and a higher power, hope that your dedicated efforts are recognized and valued, and trust that, no matter how hard things get, fortune will find you. Mustering the strength to navigate the unknown has been one of the toughest challenges in both my personal and professional lives. But I’ve found that it is in these moments – of perseverance in the face of frustration and uncertainty – that I am most blessed with success. So, remember the words of Tom Petty when you think about throwing in the towel: “you take it on faith, you take it to the heart, the waiting is the hardest part”. Greatness will find you, but you must be ready and have patience!
