Wait for it!

Reference text: Isaiah 40:28-31

Have you ever been frustrated while you wait?? In traffic, at the store, or in a doctor’s office - waiting is not something that we typically enjoy doing.? We could be waiting for something big, like gainful employment, a medical diagnosis, or an answer to a prayer.? Waiting on God can feel unbearable at times, especially when His timing doesn’t exactly line up with our expectations.

God sits outside of time and sees the beginning and the end of everything.? We cannot fully comprehend His thoughts and ways.? When our wait takes longer than we expect, we tend to grow impatient, weary, doubtful, perhaps even angry.? It’s during such times that we can do the following:

• Ask Him for strength to endure the waiting period.
• Spend time in His presence and in prayer, reverently expressing our concerns.
• Pay attention to what He’s saying through His written or spoken words.
• Trust Him with the outcomes in His time and His way.

At some point in our lives, we will have to wait for something or someone.? As we wait, let us look to Him to help us persevere until we receive by faith what He has in store for us.
