The Wait is Over... Introducing Atmosic

In Q421, many of you may know that I left Silicon Labs but I had chosen to keep my new destination under wraps until the CES conference was in my rearview mirror, despite many of my previous Silicon Labs teammates probing me for information at Tyson’s retirement party!

Well, the wait is over, and my LinkedIn page has been updated as I announce that I joined a well-funded and established startup called Atmosic as their Senior Director of Product Marketing.

Atmosic brings a unique perspective to the world of wireless IoT. We all know that IoT has become a permanent element in our lives, but it could also lead to huge environmental concerns if responsible design attitudes are not adopted along the way.

Atmosic brings its leadership to the semiconductor industry by designing standards-based wireless SoCs and integrating much-needed energy harvesting features allowing the wireless SoCs to directly use the abundance of energy that surrounds us every day. Photovoltaic, thermal, motion, and even RF energy emitted by IoT devices can directly power the wireless solutions by Atmosic and in turn, reduce our dependence on the batteries that are ultimately disposed of at a rate of over 100 per second in the US alone.

CES marked a major milestone for Atmosic as several tier-one brands announced and launched products that took advantage of Atmosic’s energy-harvesting and industry-leading wireless technology.

?Atmosic also just hit two other major milestones: the company raised $72 million in additional funding and launched the new ATM33 Series SoC. The new ATM33 offers a 64MHz M33F microcontroller, a Bluetooth LE 5.3 radio that offers up to +10 dBm transmit power, an enhanced Sensor Hub, and energy harvesting technology.

I encourage everyone to follow Atmosic on LinkedIn and Twitter to see what we’re up to, and I’ll continue to keep you posted on all the exciting things to come.
