Ronald A. Howard has been a Professor in the Department of Engineering Economic Systems (now the Department of Management Science and Engineering) in the School of Engineering of Stanford University since 1965. Professor Howard is one of the founders of the decision analysis discipline.He also is the Director of the Decisions and Ethics Center, which examines the efficacy and ethics of social arrangements.?

Professor Howard earned his Sc.D. in Electrical Engineering from MIT in 1958. He was an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering, Associate Professor of Industrial Management, and Associate Director of the Operations Research Center at MIT when he joined the Stanford faculty as Professor in 1965.

Mr. Ben Tian is the Dean of SenseTime Intelligent Industry Research Institute and an expert in industrial IOT (IIOT), artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing with extensive industry experience. He is the author of 11 books, including New Infrastructure (2020), Cloud Strategy (2018), Internet 3.0 (2016), and Breakthrough Technologies (2016-2017).?

Ben is also the former Founding Dean of Alibaba Cloud Research Institute. Ben is a Key Expert in Xinhua Outlook Weekly, People Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, Internet Society of China, China Committee of 100 of Digital Economy, and Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Technology Association. He also acts as Co-director of Computational Law and AI Ethics Research Institute at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, as well as an External Researcher and Lecturer at ACCA, Singapore Management University, China Europe International Business School, Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business, Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Dr. Tao is the founding partner of Cloudstone Venture Fund. He is also the managing partner of Chongqing Vision Spring Innovation Fund (VSI, an RMB fund). He has been in VC since 2012. Prior to that, he has been an angel investor, and co-founder of a few high-tech companies in silicon valley and China; notable among them is the company which invented the USB drive in 1999, resulting in an IPO in Shenzhen.

Dr. Tao was the founder and former Chairman of Beijing SDR Consulting Group. Dr. Tao worked at Strategic Decisions Group (SDG, later merged with Navigant Consulting) in Menlo Park, CA, for more than a decade, from analyst to vice president to managing director for the Asia Pacific region.?

Dr. Tao graduated from Stanford Engineering School with a PhD in Decision Analysis. He is an adjunct professor at the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF), teaching the “Decision Analysis” course for MBA students from financial institutions, hedge funds, PE funds and VCs.

Carlos Mu?oz?Ferrandis is Tech & Regulatory Affairs Counsel at Hugging Face and?a member of the OECD.AI network of experts, where he broadly focuses on standards, sandboxes and AI regulation.?

He also carries his PhD in Law targeting the interactions between open source and ICT standards (e.g. telecoms Network Function Virtualization) from an IP and antitrust angle.?

After having carried his PhD research at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, he joined BigScience, an open NLP project developing large multilingual models and datasets, as co-chair of the Legal/Ethical WG, where he co-leads the efforts on licensing.?

Carlos has also studied the strategic use of open source licenses in machine learning (ML) frameworks as a core competitive factor in ML platform leadership.

Dr. James Ong is an entrepreneur and community builder and has over 35 years of experience in Asia, the US and Europe across multiple industry verticals. He is currently the founder and CEO of Origami, that builds ventures with frontier technologies such as AI, Enterprise Software, Blockchain, Web3 and Metaverse.

James founded Artificial Intelligence International Institute (AIII), a think tank advocating Sustainable AI for Humanity. James started his career as an AI scientist at a leading US MCC research lab on advanced AI Fifth Generation Computer research. He was with Trilogy, an AI pioneer and enterprise software startup.

He is also an adjunct professor and mentor-in-residence at SUTD and serves as a mentor for NUS, NTU A*STAR and Lean Launchpad program. James received his PhD in Management Information System specializing in AI for Organizational Governance and Policy and Business Process Automation and MA & BA in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin.
