Wagner's violence in Mali

Usually we do not publish photos or videos of violence. Although a picture is worth a thousand words, pictures from the Sahel can be extremely violent and hard to share. This one, though, may be an exception. We removed footage that depict violence, however, we felt it is worth publishing some limited amount of verbal violence to show how civilian populations are tormented and are always on the receiving end of wars. In this case, a woman with her young children in a tent in northern Mali is surrounded by menacing Wagner mercenaries. Again, Europeans showing up at their tents, as they did for centuries. She is interrogated about the whereabouts of the Touareg fighters, and clearly threatened if she does not cooperate. The poor woman says, over and over again, that she has no idea and this gang of killers do not believe her. Note that the leader of that unit, standing up to the left of the screen, with a beard, ended up killed in a subsequent clash with the very people he has been chasing. We do not show any physical violence in this video, we just think the language is worth sharing.
