Imagine if your "stage" didn't have to be a physical one, if that's true, what would it be?
If you could be well-Kn.o.wn by standing on that stage, what would that look like? And what would it achieve?
If you can identify What Works Well for you, you can greatly improve your results. Let's start to scratch the surface of What Works Well so you can map out your own results! Oh, and we'll address the negative and positive impact of imposter syndrome on "your stage" and what to do about that.
What's Your theoretical Stage? Where can you become well-Kn.o.wn? Are you ready to put in the work to acheive the results?
?Note: if you read to the end you'll see a sneaky LinkedIn tip to help you become Kn.o.wn!?
W for What Works Well is about recognising and amplifying the strategies that are already successful in helping you achieve visibility, build client relationships, and reinforce your expertise.
Here’s how each element of KNOWN connects to What Works Well:
Focusing on What Works Well lets you approach growth from a position of strength, reinforcing your name and reputation as a trusted authority who delivers reliable, measurable outcomes. How do you find your ideal "stage"?
Finding Your “Stage” for Maximum Visibility
To become KNOWN to your ideal clients, it’s essential to identify the “stage” where you naturally thrive as an expert. That doesn't mean you always stay on that stage, it simply gives you a kickstart!
This "stage" is your platform for demonstrating your authority, and it could take many forms: in-person workshops, speaking events, online courses, or specialised panels, podcast guesting, hosting and more. The key is to find the one that lets you engage confidently and authentically with your audience, so they see you as both approachable and credible.
How to Determine Your Stage:
Pro Tip: Your stage should feel natural, empowering you to present your best self. When your platform fits your strengths, your confidence shines through, making it easier for potential clients to view you as a credible authority and go-to expert in your field. This authenticity is what helps turn visibility into trust, setting the foundation for long-term client relationships.
Real Life Example: One of my Kn.o.wn clients comes alive when asked challenging industry questions, she passionately articulates very clever responses which makes everyone stop and listen. To my surprise, when I suggested it, she told me she felt really uncomfortable doing public speaking, she wasn't ready for that stage. So I recently recorded a series of videos of asking her curiously hard industry questions. Then I clipped the videos using a simple AI tool so she's the only one visible in the recordings. She's used these videos in multiple places to reinforce her expertise and the feedback is really positive. For now, recorded video and live interviews are working as "her stage".

Thanks for all the incredible feedback about the Kn.o.wn framework. I chuckled when someone used the word "known" in a conversation this week, then apologised for using "my" word! It's everywhere when you start looking, isn't it. It's so important for growing your credibility and authority in a noisy business environment.

4 个月Great article Nicki Osbaldiston - I really enjoyed it! What if your stage were being a host of some sort - you mentioned podcast host, but it could be hosting an event, a panel etc where the guests/speakers are connections or collaborators you have selected?
