How did the celebration of International Women's Day begin?

In 1908, 15,000 women marched in New York City to demand voting rights, for reduced working hours and better wages. According to the announcement of the Socialist Party of America, a year later, in 1909, the first National Women's Day was celebrated in the United States on February 28. Clara Zetkin, leader of the Women's Office of the Social Democratic Party of Germany, proposed the idea of celebrating International Women's Day in 1910. He suggested that women should celebrate International Women's Day in every country to pursue their demands.
