VW steering wheel problems and built quality?

I recieved my a new #volkswagen #ID3 about one month ago. I looked the car through at the showroom that it did not have any major built flaws in the 10 minute quick look, but after driving the car 30 minutes from the #showroom I started to see things that werent correct. The new steering wheel had huge press marks in the ring at 8 a`clock position. Pressmark is quite sharp and even the leather itself is broken in one place.
Also the #steeringwheel airbag cover had scrape/slit. On the next day I made a formal email complaint with pictures to vw that can you change these parts as they were not A quality what you expect to recieve when buying a new car. Dealeship took about one month to come into conclusion that there is nothing wrong with my car and they wont change the parts to new and no compensation was offered either.
I have owned over 10 VAG vehicles in the last ten years from VW Lupo 3Ls to Audi A8 and Touaregs and none of their steering wheels had such press marks even used. I wonder where could such press marks come from and is this really the built standards these cars are made at the factory? What are your throughs on the matter?
Don`t go to get your new car from dealership alone
Hire a professional car make up person to see the vehicle through before you drive off from the shop. This was my fist new car ever bougth and I was just too eager to get behind the wheel and drive it and therefore did not look it carefully enough in the shop. I also foolishly trusted that VW they would build cars that have at least some built quality standards. Well to end that is not the case VW has taken no responsibility on the matter so far so its my duty to warn other car buyers to not make same mistakes.

3 年Hi, I found similar faults & marks recently in my 25 years young Volvo. When using daily they won't last forever,,, fortunately we have after sales.

3 年Quite odd, I`d say. I have heard about some major electricity sw issues though. VW dealer after market has failed both in case handling as well as in customer satisfaction.
