VW did Something People Never Saw Coming?-? Best Ads of?2023

Here’s a brilliant example of ‘Show, don’t?tell’.?

Volkswagon, the world-famous car manufacturer made something interesting, made something worthwhile.?

I am not going to tell you what’s in the add. First, Watch it.?

What they wanted to do was communicate the usefulness of their IQ Drive Safety System.?

To do that, they could do a campaign where they tell people all the facts and figures about why you should use their product.

Like how many accidents are caused by blind spots, what technologies they used in their monitor, AI, What materials they used, how many tests they’ve done, and why it’s better than other safety systems out in the market.

They could done it. But There’s one problem.?

What’s that??

Ugh! It will be stupid fugging boring, dull, and tedious. Nobody would’ve watched that—no fugging body.?

Instead, they choose the interesting road. They decided to make something that people actually want to see.?

The Giant Blindspot.

If you see from the front, you see nothing but a giant black spot. But, If you go around and see it from the side angle, you see really what’s going on there.?

And on the side, they wrote, ‘ Blindspot monitor. Sess what you don’t ’

It’s something unique and interesting.

It sparks people’s curiosity the first time they look at it, and they become surprised when they find things out.?

Instead of barking the features at people, they simply show them in a kinda creative way.?

This, without any more facts and figures, tells the whole story to the audience. But this time in a way that people actually wanna see.?

It does 3 things to its best.

• Emphasize the message they communicate,
• Makes the campaign memorable, &
• Gives the brand a cooler look.?

Brilliant!?
