Opportunist waiting....
How often do we take our #security and well being for granted? How often should we? Sad but increasingly true, the disgraceful side of mankind reminds somebody, every day and temptation encourages greater numbers.
We should not have to consider this and most of the time, but the stories we hear far too often seem to be increasing and the market for deterrents is growing.
Even in the leafy countryside, with less people around, garden furniture, lawnmowers and alike, are taken, with police reports and insurance claims adding to the pure inconvenience of loss.
It is a sad world we live in when you have to lock everything away before bed, or leaving home to go to the shops, or work, etc. Where children's toys and bikes are targeted and even larger more fixed items are going without a trace.
A few years ago, a lovely senior gent, inquired about a gate system, for his home's security. At 93 years old, this ex Le Mons driver decided not to invest and thanked me for my time. A few months later he called me up, "Hi Alan, i need those gates of yours now". "Why" I asked?
"You wont believe it but last night, while the wife and I were in bed, someone drove up our drive and stole 20 tonnes of York-stone from directly around the house (5" thick)". "Did you not hear them", I asked. "Not really, it was not loud and as it is Bonfire Week we thought it was fireworks and alike, so ignored it".
The police can confirm #Bonfire Week is known for such purposes and this theft must have been well planned and orchestrated with previous reconnaissance carried out.
Needless to say, we installed a complete automatic gate system and all was well.
Many reasons-for-purchase are know and most gate installation are able to provide numerous benefits beyond the main one. Designed and installed well added security can be gained for many years.
