Vulnerable Indian Workforce
I made quite a few observations during my recent vacation in the UK and realized that we are using our labour force in quite a futile manner .
This a list of places where absolutely no labour was involved and a short description on how it is distributed in our country
- Fuel Stations - They don't have a single person involved in fuel filling we have an average of 15 people (for day and night shift) in every station and lets have a look at the number of fuel stations approximately 56,190 and 56190 x 15 means around 8,42,850 this is approximately how many people we employ in fuel stations .
- Household maids and servants - Again no household workers in most of the houses in India its approximately 4.2 million or around 42,00,000 .
- Buses - No bus conductor just the bus driver who prints your ticket and India has around 150000 buses in public sector and conductor in each makes it 150000 bus conductors
- Street vegetable vendors - None of these everything is available in supermarkets and they are everywhere we can easily take around 15,00,000 more people and the number is surely more than that because each locality has 2 or 3 vendors .
- No scrap vendors - Those kabaadiwalas are not there and dustbins are used to full capability with number of options like biodegradable , degradable wastes as well as old clothing 10,00,000 more .
- No staff on parking lots and no staff on metro stations - Take around 1,00,000 more people involved in such activities
So the total here sums up to around 77,92,850 around 482 million people in India are working individuals and this is around 1.6% of the total and so many places are there which i might have missed out . Also this number is likely to swell with ever increasing population .
We are in the developing stage as of now but would these practices still exist in the future ?
If they don't then where will our labour force get absorbed taking into consideration we already have so much unemployment .
My view is that with automation bound to happen these jobs will no longer exist how will we be able to cope up with automation ?
Or will this continue as India has lots of labour . Does the government need to be ready for these changes ?

7 年Thats the reason skilled india started.. they also want in few fields we need skilled labour who can be more professional.. there are still so much shortage of many labour in India for eg drivers, full time maids, part time maids who can cook food etc .. We can grow by taking some good path as well without creating unemployment and also which need people to be more educated and secondly this is media created thing that there is no job.. I saw personally this generation is not interested in working and secondly they just want a Managerial post with the salary of 10-12 lac in their first job and mostly they left job becoz of their impatience behaviours coz they don't want that someone say anything or teach them .. they want king type of a job only if if talk about graduates, engineers , mba's that too not from a big institutes
