YouTube plans to enhance viewer experience by adjusting mid-roll ad placements starting May 12, 2025, positioning ads at natural break points like pauses and transitions to reduce interruptions during videos. This change aims to make ads less disruptive and potentially increase creators' ad revenue, as internal tests showed channels using both automatic and manual mid-roll ads experienced over a 5% revenue boost compared to manual-only placements. Creators can opt out and continue manual ad management, but may see decreased revenue if they choose to do so. Learn more.

Overcoming challenges in measurement and attribution is essential, with advancements like Edison Podcast Metrics and Bumper's Dashboard offering more comprehensive audience insights to appeal to these brand marketers.
