Be vs Do

I used to talk about this framework in my Think Tank, Inc. -inc.org days….?
It was a part of the organizational coaching work I did with #grassroots faith-based groups as they worked to build up their infrastructure and partner with city and county funding.? The framework is simple and it models what I mostly see the world telling leaders they need -?
Basically what you DO dictates your ultimate worth and gains the things you HAVE which determine who you are/Be…. Do = Have + Be. Do is the focus. Always DO!
As I have grown in #leadership I hear over and over how many people tie their identity to their job title, the company they work for or their paycheck.? And when something goes wrong with any of that, their #identity as a person suffers significantly.? And so does every other role they play - parent, partner, friend, #caregiver , community member, etc.? For me, these are the critical roles we are “supposed” to play.? This is the key to who we were meant to be.?Isn't BE the intended focus? ?
BE - a verb meaning to exist
Literally, our existence is BE, our existence is who we ARE!
But I see the world differently and I believe God does too. I believe God created us to Be.? (yes, say the word PERIOD out loud!) BE = Have + Do

BE - that in itself is our value. Who we are is perfect and enough on its own.
We HAVE gifts and #talents given to us by God that we can grow and cultivate.? We HAVE relationships and communities we can connect with and embrace to assist us.?We HAVE resources to sustain us and share with others.
Then we get free will to choose what we DO with who we are and what we have. That choice in DOING - that is a critical aspect of our true identity.? We choose what we do with what we have because of who we are!??
Personally,? I am searching for the BE part of me - who did God create me to BE.? I know the gifts HE has given me (HAVE), the people that are in my life cheering me on (HAVE) and the ways He is supporting the work (DO) that I have been focused on for more than 25 years.? I also know that somewhere I got a little lost in all of it. I want to emerge from this season, this chapter as the woman that I know I can BE? and who I was born to BE.
I pray for your continued focus on #thriving vs striving,
