Remember, whenever you're presenting, you're selling something. Don't sell a product, service or idea. At least not at first. Sell a better life. Everybody wants one!
Sure, a Porsche 911 is an German engineering marvel. The automotive systems & tech-specs are mind boggling.
But they're also so complex...and, boy, are there a lot of them.?
So get me emotionally excited first. Show me how awesome my life could be ( real or imagined ), and I just might be motivated and inspired to do a technical deep dive ??
This is the first principle of advertising: Emotional Excitement. And that's why Porsche does it.
Your company too.
Humans are not satisfied with the status quo. We're hard-wired for progress. Now, that doesn't mean we are always willing to do the work to get to that better place. ( humans are lazy buggers. Yes, me too! )
But the more emotionally excited we get, the better we understand how our status quo--our lives--will get better, the more willing we are to listen, engage and execute.
Or be inspired to imagine how great life could be down the road if we prepare the first step.
So be able to share what you're offering to improve the life of your audience and their stakeholders?
Emotionally excite them. Then they'll wanna know more...
