Vrede en Lust Wine Estate - Die 2023 oesseisoen lê voor

Pre-Harvest Update from Yolandi Barnard, viticulturist at Vrede en Lust Wine Estate, Simondium.

This year we planted around 3333 sticks per ha of Grenache on ENTAV. 1.56ha planted in September, with 1.2m plant spacing with 2.5m row width, in a N-S row direction.

There is a fantastic tak percentage in the block after planting. The Grenache was planted in duplex soil with clay substrate with both Lo1 (longlands) and Wa1 (washbank) [17%] as topsoil types.

Blocks that look very promising for 2023:

• Grenache - Bunches have set well and look very abundant in the vineyard.
• Cabernet Sauvignon - Good grape set and cluster formation. Harvest looks nice and big.
• Malbec - Large bunches ready to hang on the vines. Good set and incredibly good growth.
• Merlot - Crop looks very nice big and set was good.

Daar is 'n fantastiese vat persentasie in die blok na plant. Die Grenache is geplant in duplex grond met klei onderlaag met beide Lo1 (longlands) en Wa1 (wasbank) [17%] as bogrond tiepes.?

Blokke wat baie belowend lyk vir 2023:

• Grenache - Trosse het goed geset en lyk baie volop in die wingerd.
• Cabernet Sauvignon - Goeie druif set en tros vorming. Oes lyk lekker groot.
• Malbec - Groot trosse wat klaar sit aan die stokke. Goeie set en ongelooflike goeie groei.
• Merlot - Oes lyk baie mooi groot en set was goed.?
