VR is more important than AI, and it’s not even close.

AR/VR augments humans; AI replaces us. Which team are you on?

I wanted to write this founder letter as a way to answer two critical questions about why you need to apply to join The Spatial Collective :??

1. Why do I think The Spatial Collective should exist???
2. Why founders should apply to join?

1a. This should exist because AR/VR is important for the world.

AR/VR is crucial for the world. It’s being used inside hospitals. Burn victims need their bandages changed daily, and it’s extremely painful. Patients put the headset on and are transported into a virtual reality called Snowworld. These patients report a 30%+ reduction in pain because the VR experience distracts their minds away from the burning pain they feel while the nurse changes bandages. Augmented reality is also being used inside the surgical room to help doctors keep their hands free while still seeing all the patient's vital signs and important information floating right in front of them as holograms. This technology is also boosting the production of technicians on the factory floor by giving them holographic instructions when fixing machines. I could go on and on, but if you’re the right fit to join our Spatial Collective, then you already know these facts.

1b. This should exist because AR/VR is dangerous for people's health if left unchecked.

Although it’s not AI, there are clear risks to AR/VR, particularly around people's health. People already spend too much time using screens, so what happens when we can go inside those screens? We will enjoy technology more, but use it less? I don’t think so. It’s the responsibility of every great AR/VR founder to be thoughtful about the impact their product can have on humans at scale. We want this technology to help humanity, not drive us further into an anti-social culture where users hide behind screens, not to mention the eye strain.

1c. This should exist because AR/VR needs great people helping the industry.

We need bulletproof founders and developers who understand how to build, sell, and scale. They are the drivers of the industry car. Next, we need great people like VCs and advisers who can accelerate those founders like gasoline. And finally, we need to grow customer awareness so we can afford to buy more cars.

2a. You should apply to join because the more members we have, the greater your startup is going to benefit from our flywheel.

The more enterprise champions, entrepreneurs, and investors we have, the more key applications can be created for healthcare, manufacturing, medical, real estate, and more. We bring in VC investors to speak directly with our members, opening up the door for investment opportunities. We also scout and bring in customers who can buy products directly from our members. Not just money exchanges hands, but so do ideas. Our members are divided up into groups where founders can talk directly with other founders and developers to share secrets on how to get ahead.

2b. You should apply to join because the more people we have, the more money our industry is going to make.

So, our job is to feed as many champions, founders, and investors into our funnel as possible. Mo' people, mo' money. The more great founders we have in our group, the greater the VCs and customers we can bring in for partnership opportunities.

2c. You should apply to join because you’ll get great business and career support.

Enterprise executives can easily advance their careers by becoming the thought leader within an organization known for knowledge of AR/VR/3D. When you bring use cases to the boardroom, people will be shocked by what is possible using this technology. We exist to serve the entrepreneur; they receive incredible support from our community of other founders, VC opportunities, and customer partnership opportunities. All of this cross-pollination creates organic partnerships. Enterprises need innovative use cases, startups need enterprise customers, and by pairing up problems with solutions, we make an impact across all members.
