In the transformative realm of Lumen, I embarked on a journey that would redefine my understanding of leadership. The Dare to Lead training was my guide, illuminating the path to becoming a more successful customer-obsessed leader, one who leads not just with expertise, but with curiosity and patience.
As I delved into the principles of vulnerability and courage, I discovered a new way to connect with our customers. With transparency as my shield and trust as my banner, I forged stronger bonds, earning new business and glowing references along the way.
But the magic of this transformation was not confined to the corridors of Lumen. At home, my children, Srestha and Abhinaba, became my eager disciples in the art of leadership. They absorbed the tales of my training, applying the lessons to their own quests in school and on the sports field.

Srestha’s Tale: The Quest for Knowledge
Srestha, at the tender age of 13, faced a formidable challenge—a school project shrouded in complexity. Inspired by my journey, she embraced the Dare to Lead ethos, seeking wisdom from her teachers. Her bravery was rewarded with knowledge, and her project blossomed into a beacon of success, admired by all her peers.
But it was her literary adventure that truly showcased her growth. Tasked with rewriting the classic Cinderella story from a unique perspective, Srestha delved into the depths of her imagination. The task was daunting, yet she rose to the occasion, crafting a narrative that captivated her audience. Her rendition was not just a retelling; it was a renaissance of the tale, imbued with fresh insights and vivid imagery. The teachers and students were enchanted by her storytelling prowess, and her book became the talk of the school. Classmates and students eagerly pre-booked slots to immerse themselves in her world, and whispers of a budding young author began to spread. Srestha’s success planted the seeds of a dream—to one day publish her own book.
Abhinaba’s Tale: The Arena of Courage
Abhinaba, 10 years young, stood at the threshold of the first ping pong tournament, the arena where only the brave dare to tread. With Srestha by his side, they faced the formidable duos of last year’s champions. Their synergy was electric, their spirits indomitable. Together, they faced the formidable duo who were last year’s runners-up, and against all odds, emerged victorious. The momentum carried them forward, and they soon found themselves pitted against the reigning champions. With each serve and return, they demonstrated the principles of Dare to Lead—fearlessness and mental fortitude. Even when the odds were against them in the semi-finals, they rallied with tremendous courage, turning the tide in their favor. The final match was a testament to their resilience; they emerged as the youngest champions in the tournament’s history. The concepts of Dare to Lead had not only made them mentally strong but had also instilled in them a belief that anything is possible when you lead with courage.
My journey with Dare to Lead has been a tale of transformation, weaving together the threads of professional excellence and personal growth. It has taught me that leadership is not a mantle worn by one, but a tapestry woven by many. And as I continue to apply these skills, I see the fabric of my life, and the lives of my children, becoming richer and more vibrant.
