Voting is the Informed Mediation of Our Political Priorities and Differences

THE PERFECT VOTE IS AN EDUCATED VOTE

?The perfect vote is an informed educated vote based on vetted policy information that you agree with, at least in part, and that is accurate and independently verified.?There is no perfect choice.?Both parties, their policies, and their candidates have flaws.?Jon Meacham?stated that?politics is mediating policy and our vote is the binding mediation of those priorities and differences.?The perfect vote is rests in the better/accurate choice and why we must vote on policy we agree with and those candidates and party platforms that support that policy.?The choice in the 2022 Mid Term election is between two visions of democratic mediation or authoritarianism).?Not voting in this election is a vote against democratic mediation.?There is nothing worse than voting against the party in power because one is unhappy with the state of our government without understanding the root cause(s).?Both parties bear responsibility for the state of our Democracy and their track record is their report card.?Study it and make an informed vote.

?

1.???The Policy: understanding the policy and its impact on our democracy.?No one likes inflation or deficit spending.?To correct it the cause must be understood and addressed through sound policy and governance.?Was it the party in power, economic malfeasance/greed, a natural disaster, political, or a global phenomenon at the roots of inflation??The Democrats didn’t start covid, the major legacy cause of our current inflation, which caused a gas glut slowing production causing a gas shortage followed by a post Covid demand surge in gas consumption.?President Biden can’t control the Saudi’s cut back on oil production to support Putin, or production of gas in America by the largest oil refinery in Texas owned by the Saudi Arabia (Trump and Abbot allowed the sale to the Saudi’s).?Corporate greed is price gouging on oil prices and shipping companies like Maersk raised their container rates from $1,500 to $20,000 per container that the US cannot control.?The GOP is using inflation as a battering ram against the Democrats and the major cause is not the fault of Democrats.?And, with rare if any exception, Republican controlled states have higher crime rates than Democratic led states and Trump repealed Obama’s executive order to keep guns out of the hands of the mentally ill.?Understanding the history of the party and its position on policy is crucial to making an informed vote.

?

2.???The Party’s policy on specific issues and governing our country.?We tend to blame the party in control for a poor job performance and they should to a degree.?Both parties were hired to govern and minority party is equally responsible if they are not doing their job governing.?What is the party’s track record on the major issues confronting our country??Are they reflecting the priorities of the people with policy to correct the challenge or blaming the party in power??

?

3.???The candidate’s position on the policy: What is their track record and position on the policy??Are they drafting policy and are they willing to vote across the aisle or are they partisan cronies appealing to gullible uninformed electorate?

?

What happened to the Republican Party (Party of Lincoln that freed the slaves, Roosevelt who created social security, and Nixon who created the environmental protection laws) functioning within the realm conservatism.??Liberalism enhances our democracy with new progressive policies and conservatism checkmates those policies creating legislation to stabilize, protect, and serve our democracy.?At times both parties have taken extreme positions and are needed to be checkmated by the opposing party.?Remember, the Democrats fought slavery and Republicans fought regulating Wall Street leading to the 2008 meltdown.?

Historical Context

In our 1992 recession economy under President George W. Bush he raised taxes to reverse the recession, after he promised he would not, and which had ended it at the time of the General election??He did it by raising taxes which today is a GOP heretical policy.?The first Gulf War over Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait was really about oil.?In summarizing his lengthy 66 page essay A Macroeconomic and Geostrategic Analysis of the Unspoken Truth by W. Clark the first Gulf War, suppressed by US media, was an oil currency war to prevent?OPEC momentum towards the euro as an oil transaction currency.?The US forgave a $50 billion Egypt debt in return for their support of the war.?It was a war over economics, not Democracy or genocide.?We are now experiencing that same confrontation of a battle for our democracy between Wall Street and Main Street.?

?

President Clinton taxed the rich, cut defense and welfare spending, and between 1998 and 2000 paid down the largest ever $363 billion on the national debt.??It was “Trickle Upeconomics.?President George H.W. Bush?inherited Clinton's thriving economy and immediately lowered taxes on the rich “trickle down” economics using the Clinton surplus, and started a war with Iraq over WMD’s that didn’t exist spending billions of dollars, tried to privatize our Social Security, deregulated Wall Street causing 2008 meltdown running our country trillions in debt, causing rampant unemployment, homelessness and business to fail.?Obama is elected to fix the national ordeal amidst constant Republican obstructionism, bailed out General Motors which the GOP opposed, created 60 months of solid job growth, cut our annual federal deficit by $500 billion, created Affordable Care Act, and managed international virus crises.?He tried to repeal the Bush Tax breaks for the rich which Republicans blocked along with the Immigration Bill that had bi-partisan support.?He handed over an economy to Trump who gave another tax break to the rich and himself raising our national debt another tillion dollars, increased federal budget $500 billion, lost over 1.3 million jobs increasing unemployment 1.6%, tried to repeal the affordable care act, repealed Obama’s law keeping guns out of hands of mentally ill, increased hate rhetoric causing violence against Congress and law enforcement to rise 967%, and poorly managed the Covid Virus outbreak.

Political Climate

This leads to my observation of our political climate and the hostile negative bonding in the Republican Party against the Democratic Party.?The question is why??The Democrats are governing passing sweeping legislation to create jobs, bring manufacturing back to America, background checks for gun purchases, improve our infrastructure, and reduce drug prices by forcing corporations to pay a minimum 15% Federal Tax.?And he reduced the federal deficit from $2.8 trillion to 1.4 trillion in the process.?The few Republicans who voted for Biden’s legislation were deemed traitors by GOP radicals while the Republican Party remained silent with some going to their home districts to take credit for the policies positive effect on their district.

?

?Democrats are governing with a vision for our democracy and Republicans are doing neither.??No, Democrats are not doing a perfect job and why they need the GOP doing theirs for which they swore.?The only means to winning an election for the GOP is to disparage the opposition with negative bonding and propaganda, obstruct governing versus weigh in with conservative values, suppress the vote with stop the steal election), and fill the airwaves with propaganda (hate and misinformation calling Jan. 6th legitimate Political Discourse".?At this juncture in our Democracy the only way Republicans can win is divide and conquer (Wall Street and Main Street).?

?

Do you agree with the Republican Party’s position on January 6th that “Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger crossed a line.?They chose to join Nancy Pelosi in a Democrat-led persecution of ordinary citizens who engaged in legitimate political discourse that had nothing to do with violence at the Capital” – Ronna McDaniel Republican National Committee Chair, that Democrats hate our Democracy, want to kill Republicans, hate God, and are Pedophiles??And what policy have they on the table.?They say they are going to “fix” the economy.?If the economy Bush left Obama or the one Trump left Biden are any indication we are in trouble.?And the electorate seem to be placing the economy above our democracy.?If we don’t have a democracy we don’t have an economy.?Compare the authoritarian (USSR, China, and N. Korea) to Democratic economies (USA, Germany) to validate this reality.?The Party of Lincoln has regressed to the party of Wigs.

?

This is why I believe this midterm election is, above all else, a vote for our democracy and not on the party in power.?American electorate seem to take our democracy for granted and vote their pocket book blaming the party in power for our national woes.?Keeping in mind the party in power always bears some responsibility but rarely is it all on the ruling party.?The Republican Party of Lincoln has regressed to the party of Wigs in need of a rebirth.?Your vote will either empower their nefariously autocratic agenda or terminate it.?Winning will empower them and losing will lead them back to Lincoln.?Remember, the next time around, if you aren’t voting for the Democratic Party, your vote may not count and the Democrats will not have the legislative power to help you.?THIS IS NOT A VOTE FOR OR AGAINST A PARTY.?IT IS A VOTE FOR OUR DEMOCRACY AND YOUR FUTURE.
