BECOME AN INFORMED VOTER

The June 7 primary election is around the corner. Are you ready? It can be hard to make decisions about candidates and measures. Voters must cut through a lot of false or skewed information. Some resources to help you do your research for our upcoming election are:

These resources are considered nonpartisan or free from bias. You can get more information about candidates by reading local papers and watching debates. Those resources help you better understand what matters most to each candidate.

Sometimes it might not feel like it, but your vote matters. The leaders we elect make decisions that affect our daily lives. The measures on our ballot can increase funding for schools, parks, and other things that might be important to you.

WHAT'S ON THE BALLOT

June 7 is the last day to vote in the primary election for many elected officials, including the Governor and U.S. Senator. The top two vote-getters in the primary move to the general election regardless of party affiliation. If you live in East Palo Alto, don't forget to vote for:

MEASURE I

What is it? A bond authorization for $110 million that allows improvements for Ravenswood schools, such as replacing old portables with permanent classrooms; upgrades to safety, technology, and energy efficiency. All funds will be spent locally and not on salaries.

A “Yes” vote supports issuing $110 million in bonds for Ravenswood School District.

A “No” vote opposes issuing $110 million in bonds for Ravenswood School District.
