Vote!
Me speaking at the recent Economist Impact Conference!

Vote!

TIP – Ask your audience to VOTE. It keeps them engaged! Particularly in a hybrid setting. (On this occasion it was voting for how many days we should work in the office. Zero days anyone?)

Happy heatwave!

If you’re in London (like me) or in France, you’ve been sizzling in record temperatures this week.?Phew, what a hot-under-the-collar week it’s been too.

Voting has been taking place all over the shop! Everyone is doing it.

In the UK they’ve been voting for our future Prime Minister….well,?they’ve been voting the candidates off one by one.?It’s just like Love Island!??

The ITV debate for Britain’s next Prime Minister took place on Monday with the final 5 (now down to 2) hosted by Julie Etchingham there in the light blue suit!

And on ITV2 –?it’s exactly the same (only fewer clothes),?the pubic have been voting candidates off the popular summer smash-hit show?Love Island.

OK, I admit it. I have been watching it (all 46 episodes so far) with my daughter, 16 and son, 12, who only comes in when he hears us shrieking at the scandalous kissing bits!

The point is everyone is at it.?

Voting I mean!

Who would have thought Davide, Rishi Sunak, Ekin Su and Liz Truss would be top of the voting pops this summer?

So, one tip I’d like to share with you today is this.?Get your audience to vote!

Whether you’re in the town hall , the Monday briefing, on reality TV or on stage at a conference.

Voting is GOOD!?

Here’s why…

  • The whole audience interacts with your content.
  • It gives them a voice
  • Keeps them hooked
  • Guarantees engagement
  • It’s fun!

I’ve been speaking to global business audiences for over 8 years and before that I produced shows live on air at the BBC for more than 10 years!

In my experience, getting the audience involved is a sure fire way to keep them tuned in.

So, whether you’re asking the audience to vote on the flavour of tea-bags in the office kitchen or whether or not remote meetings should be capped at 45 minutes, get them voting.?

It’s good for you and it’s good for your audience.

On that note I will end on a vote…

Ekin Su or Liz Truss?
