In 1930, Johann Georg Fendt and his son Hermann Fendt put their heads together and developed the first 6 hp small diesel tractor with a mower and mounted plow. The "Dieselross" was born.
Since then, Fendt rapidly gained fame in the entire German-speaking region. In 1958, the company presented the ff-series with its “Fendt Favorit” showcase model that impressed with an especially sleek bonnet. The iconic slogan #LeadersDriveFendt was first coined during this period.
From 1970 on, Fendt presented a diverse selection of machines, for example in 1971 the first self-propelled loader wagon Agrobil.
1995 was the premier of the new Fendt Favorit 926 Vario with the innovative Vario transmission. The tractor and transmission were introduced at the AGRITECHNICA in Hannover.
The year 1997 marks a turning point. The family business Fendt was bought by the young US agricultural machinery company AGCO Corporation and since has grown quite a bit.
In 2005, all eyes were on the Fendt "Black Beauty", the Fendt 936 Vario.
