Volvo has expanded their model range again by introducing the all-electric Volvo C40 Recharge. Not only is this electric, it also appeals to the growing demand for crossovers. This Volvo will rival the likes of the Mercedes-Benz EQA, as it offers the perfect blend between popular SUV elements and the practicality of a smaller car. Want to find out more? Let’s delve deeper to discover the main highlights of the new?Volvo C40, such as performance, design, electric range and safety features.
Volvo C40 Recharge Interior, Design & Features
The new Volvo C40 Recharge offers the raised driving position of an?SUV, along with the practicality of an estate car. Size wise, the C40 Recharge is 4,440mm long, 1,591mm tall and 1,873mm wide. This is almost exactly the same size as the?Mercedes EQA?or Genesis GV60. Externally, the Volvo C40 has a sporty crossover shape with pixel headlights. Meanwhile, the leather free interior features partially recycled carpets without compromising on the quality. Also, there’s a standard fixed panoramic roof which lets in plenty of natural light. As for boot space, the 414-litre capacity is reasonable, and the hatchback-like opening makes loading luggage easier.
As a brand, Volvo pride themselves on their stylish designs and quality safety measures. This definitely applies to the new Volvo C40 Recharge! This Volvo features a 9” tablet-style touchscreen, wireless phone-charging and DAB radio. These features are responsive, although some of the smaller buttons on the touchscreen can be a little fiddly. Furthermore, the C40 comes with plenty of safety features such as hill descent control, pedestrian and cyclist detection, hill start assist and emergency brake assist.?
Also, the Volvo C40 Recharge has an excellent selection of exterior colour options to choose from. With this Volvo model, the solid - Black Stone is the no cost option. Meanwhile the other paint options are available for an addition cost up to £850 inc. VAT.?Volvo are committed to growing its range of hybrid and fully?electric cars. Therefore, like the Volvo XC40 Recharge, we think the C40 Recharge will make a great addition to the model line-up.?
Volvo C40 Recharge Range & Performance
The?Volvo C40 Recharge?is available with either a 69kWh battery or a bigger 78kWh battery. If you choose the single motor C40 Recharge with the smaller battery, this has an electric range of up to 269 miles (WLTP). This is just slightly less miles than the entry-level Genesis GV60. Performance wise, this has a 0-60mph time of 7.4 seconds and produces 0 g/km of CO2 emissions. Whereas, the twin motor C40 Recharge with a 78kWh battery is capable of up to 273 miles on one full charge. Also, this is the faster version and drives particularly well on the motorway. It’s worth noting that, this car’s punchy engine makes it even faster than a Jaguar I-Pace – very impressive!
