Q:Sunil, could you share the inspiration behind your decision to venture into volunteering?

A: Certainly. Growing up, I was fortunate to have received scholarships that significantly shaped my path. I felt a strong desire to give back to the world, inspired by my mom's annual donations to an orphanage and the memory of celebrating my birthday at an orphanage during my college years. These experiences laid the foundation for my journey into volunteering.

Q: Can you take us back to your first volunteering experience? How did it shape your perspective?

A:In 2015, I embarked on my very first volunteering event. I vividly remember arriving, uncertain of what lay ahead. Out of the 15 registered volunteers, only three of us showed up. Little did I know that this event would change the course of my life. I found myself in a classroom, teaching from a storybook. However, what transpired was beyond my expectations. One young girl, overcome with emotion, stood up and shed silent tears. Her friend revealed that she was deaf and mute. This encounter was a catalyst, prompting me to establish a team of volunteers dedicated to making a difference.

Q: It's truly inspiring how that moment led to greater things. Could you elaborate on how you've harnessed your skills for volunteering?

A: Absolutely. I discovered that my knack for writing poems and short stories could be channeled in a meaningful way. I came up with an idea to raise funds for NGOs through my writing. I introduced a subscription service where subscribers enjoy my literary creations, and in turn, the proceeds are directed towards charitable causes. It's a win-win-win situation – NGOs receive vital funds and exposure, subscribers gain valuable content, and I extend my impact to wider networks.

Q: Promoting volunteerism has a significant impact. How do you believe it can inspire others to contribute?

A: Indeed, promoting volunteerism helps individuals believe that they have the power to create positive change. When people see tangible results from the efforts of volunteers, it becomes more accessible and relatable. By sharing stories and experiences, we show that everyone can play a role in making the world a better place.

Q: What advice would you give to young individuals considering volunteering?

A: Start now. Volunteering is a transformative journey that not only impacts others but also enriches your life in unexpected ways. It's an avenue for developing leadership skills, forming valuable connections, and learning vital life lessons in resilience, humility, and staying grounded.
