Volunteers Support 8615 Students in 2016-17
As we move into the 2017-18 academic year, we are delighted to say that our Education projects have supported 8615 students! The projects have ranged from supporting primary school students with their maths so secondary schools students with reading, interview and employability skills.
The projects are all delivered in local schools courtesy of volunteers from local businesses who support us throughout the year. Full reports for each of our 4 project areas are available on request.
“The children thoroughly enjoy the Number Partners sessions and it definitely gives them increased confidence and an opportunity to develop skills or fill gaps in their current maths knowledge.”
"Go For Reading has been a really rewarding experience for our team. Whenever they finish a session, they come back to the office full of praise for the children’s improving reading efforts! They’re all very excited to continue next year with new team members joining our existing team!"
"It is hugely fulfilling to work with the teaching staff and young people across schools in Leicester and Leicestershire through the "Speedy Speaker" programme. Sharing stories and ideas about how to prepare for a Career is great fun and provides all the young people with a "nugget" of an idea which motivates them to fulfil their potential."
"She helped me feel very relaxed and gave me good advice on what to do in the future."
