"Our 40th Anniversary year bustled with achievements and milestones," Volunteer Resources Manager Corina Sadler said. "We received an Award of Merit from the National Association of Volunteer Programs in Local Government and watched as City staff generously supported our 25th Anniversary Adopt an Angel program during the holiday season. We launched new software that will help invite more neighbors to join us in keeping traditions that make VIP unique. In addition to milestones, VIP’s work is filled with small moments that allow us to reflect on the history, growth and impact of service in this community."

There were 6,619 volunteers in 2023 who logged 76,674 hours for a value of $2,438,233.

"This report quantifies some aspects of service in Plano, but many impacts are immeasurable. How many new neighbors felt welcomed to Plano by volunteers? How many lifelong memories have been made while volunteering? How much of one's fulfillment and sense of purpose comes from service to others?" Sadler said. "As VIP continues to tell the story of volunteerism in Plano, it’s the individuals – past and present staff and volunteers – who motivate us. I am very proud of each individual who has served with us since 1983 and of the future volunteers who will join VIP’s legacy. You make an immeasurable difference in Plano."

So honored to work at Volunteers in Plano! It's a blast to engage folks through volunteerism and support staff throughout the City who work with volunteers. ??

As a community, Plano is known for its give-back nature. That being said, the way the City of Plano has implemented volunteers to deliver bottom-line impact *and* provide meaningful opportunities for connection and service is a national model. I can't get past these numbers in the 2023 annual report: * 6,619 volunteers giving * 76,674 hours of service which equals * $2,438,233 value Unbelievable! I'm so thankful to work in Plano and call Plano home. #LovePlano
