Volunteers Are The Bedrock of Your Non-Profit
As the Arlington Soccer Association comes off two back to back weekends of our hosted Tournament, the ASIST Spring Invitational, I have been reflecting on the unbelievable impact that our volunteers make to our organization.
Any non-profit worth it's salt is judicious with their funds and does its best to maintain a high ratio of funds directed to the programs which further the mission and benefit their members. To do so, we rely heavily on hours upon hours of time donated by volunteers. These may be Board Members, Coaches, Event Volunteers, and other experts in their fields.
Time, treasure and talent is a phrase often heard in the non-profit world. Those are three areas that help non-profits the most. Without those three areas of volunteerism working in concert, it puts large demands on the organization's staff and can cause stress, inefficiencies and job dissatisfaction. As well as hard to grow the organization or move it forward.
