Volunteering Experience

Volunteering is a huge blessing in my academic career. Since my university promotes giving back to the community, I have had the pleasure of giving back to the community over the past two years.

At?God's Closet, I organized clothing donations for families in need, ensuring these items reached the families in need around the community. I also used my photography skills during their events to promote the events more and get the word out about our event and how it helps the community.

This past summer, I also volunteered with?Project Transformation North Texas?by helping children in the community improve their reading skills. Watching their confidence grow with each book was incredibly rewarding and fulfilling. This was also special because I was in this program while growing up. I remember reading to volunteers and getting to know them, which I enjoyed as a kid—so having the opportunity to help the kids who are in the same program as I was as a kid felt terrific and was like a full-circle moment circle.

The?Asian American Contractors and Professionals Association, I assisted with Galas and Networking Events, supporting efforts to unite people and create meaningful connections. One of the highlights was helping organize a fundraiser to connect orphans with sponsor families.

Closer to campus, I volunteered at the?University of Texas at Dallas Community Garden, where I helped water plants and harvest fresh produce. This experience taught me the importance of sustainable practices and how small actions can directly benefit the community. These experiences wouldn't have been possible without the support of?The University of Texas at Dallas, an institution that prioritizes community engagement and empowers its students to make a difference. I am forever grateful for all the experiences I had with all these places, and I hope to be able to still give back to the community.
