The Wackamole group has been penetrating networks for years. Time to try and find out more information on their infrastructure. Try to find the services exposed on the network, their ports, and what software they are running. Obtain remote access and call it a day.

2023 Girl Scouts Cybersecurity Workshop

Workshop Outline

Date: Saturday, April 1, 2023

Location: Girl Scouts San Diego Headquarters

Time: 9:00AM – 12:00PM

Haiku is honored to support this event by providing free access to World of Haiku for the Cybersecurity Investigator training component of this event.

The girls will be divided into 3 groups and rotate between 3 classrooms for 45 minutes/each session to earn all 3 cyber badges and learn about cybersecurity careers:

  1. Cybersecurity Basics and Safeguards – Cyber hygiene and online safety.
  2. Cybersecurity Investigator – World of Haiku interactive gaming.
  3. Cybersecurity Careers – Career pathways and what interests and skillsets make good cyber pros.

The workshop will culminate in a Badge Ceremony, where the Girls will be presented with the badges they earned

Government Employers Are Beginning To Eliminate Degree Requirements To Expand Talent Pool

More government employers are eliminating college degree requirements as part of their applicant eligibility standards and shifting towards attracting people with real-world skills.


For years, and in some cases, decades, state and local governments would require college degrees to even apply for an open position. Even today, if they receive an application without a specific requirement, it will quickly get tossed in the trash like a balled-up napkin.

WSJ Op/Ed Piece Says School Should Be Like Prison

A recent Wall Street Journal Op/Ed column suggested that prisoners are better students than you are – but today’s educators simply don’t get it.

The Wall Street Journal, one of the premier news and writing institutions have recently?published an opinion/editorial piece ?claiming that current prisoners are better students than traditional students.

The fiery piece, written by Brooke Allen, a college professor, suggested that the prison environment affords a better learning atmosphere than current colleges.
