VoLTE provides best voice experience also in Roaming

This is not just theory but a proven matter of fact: VoLTE outperforms classic voice calls also when it comes to true customer experience in roaming:

SEGRON have checked and compared VoLTE roaming experience against “classic” (2G/3G/CSFB) voice connections for a German mobile operator who already offers VoLTE roaming in some neighboring countries. Here are the facts:

-?????????Call setup times (CST) are 4 times faster in VoLTE compared to 2G or 3G: On average, we measured a CST of 1.8 seconds for VoLTE call setup, whereas for 2G/3G average call setup times were about 7.6 seconds.

-?????????However, it is not just about CST which has improved with VoLTE: Also the voice quality itself is much better than for legacy technologies: We have measured – on average – a Mean Opinion Score (MOS) of 4.3 for VoLTE, compared to 3.8 in 2G and 3G. A delta of 0.5 is not an academic value at all, a subscriber can really hear the difference. All MOS values have been measured using the POLQA algorithm.

All these KPI measurements have been done using unrooted Smartphones, which are connected to the SEGRON Global Service Enabler (GSE) platform. GSE provides automated testing possibilities in more than 80 countries across the globe. Mobile operators can onboard to GSE in a SaaS model, and automatically – including SIM-Multiplexing technologies - monitor customer experience for their roaming subscribers, for all voice, data, messaging and OTT services. ?
