VoLTE

So it seems to me that there is an interesting opportunity that is happening now in the mobile space. VoLTE is in the process of being deployed around the world with Tier 1 carriers, they are deploying network resources and QOS to support it. I think this creates an opportunity for the OTT market space. Actually there are a few things happening that make the opportunity interesting. First, is the fact that as i watch my daughter use her iPhone and arrange the icons on her home screen it is so interesting to see that the phone icon, that is what i feel is the main app for a mobile phone, is not in her dock. She uses other OTT apps almost 100% of the time to interact with the world. So if this is the case and we can steer folks to use other apps for communications then why not focus on OTT app's with VoLTE pushing Wide Band CODECS like Opus/SILK. With a full VoLTE app we should be able to take advantage of Tier 1 resources and QOS for free using third party apps on their networks, delivering high quality voice without having to pay for the highway to deliver it. And by integrating the VoLTE app into a WebRTC framework we extend the voice capabilities of the app to, well, everything.
