In May 2017, The European car industry enjoy growth of 7.5% compare to May 2016. Thanks to Germany one of the biggest contributor, with 12.9% growth
However, there is trend that 2/3 door version is no longer become favourable, with sales decline of 8.4% on the same period last year, while 4/5 door segment enjoy 5.1% in same period. This trend make The New Volkswagen Polo, which despite being a subcompact, will not longer to be offered in a 3-door version.
VW Group increased its market share by 0.29, occupied 24.39% market share in Europe, followed by PSA Group and Renault Nissan. However in term of growth, Daimler and Toyota enjoy more with 0.54 and 0.38 respectively.
Volkswagen still best selling brand in Europe in May 2017 with 161.327 unit sold enjoy 8.7% growth compare to May 2016, followed by Renault with 104.694 unit sold.
In best selling model, The VW Golf maintained its lead but lost ground, whilst the Polo was the second best performing car.
With this position, until now, looks like Volkswagen still become The King of Europe
