Integration with Volkswagen's IDA Voice Assistant

The integration of ChatGPT with Volkswagen’s IDA voice assistant is a significant leap in making cars more interactive and intelligent. Scheduled to be a feature from the second quarter of 2024 in many Volkswagen models including the electric ID.7, ID.4, ID.5, ID.3, the all-new Tiguan, Passat, and the new Golf, the technology promises to enhance the driving experience significantly.

Sch?fer, in his LinkedIn post, expressed enthusiasm about this advancement, stating, “We’ll be the first volume manufacturer to offer the artificial-intelligence-based chatbot as a feature [...] A huge step for Volkswagen that underlines the innovative strength of our new products.”

Volkswagen’s integration of ChatGPT goes beyond basic voice commands. Even using Siri / Google (with Apple or Android CarPlay) and Alexa in the car can become woefully tiresome, but this feels like it could up the ante.
