Volatility or Uncertainty which pulls down towards reaching the goals

In people management driving the teams towards reaching the collective goals of the organization as well the team is very important and contribution from every individual is equally important, but at times people managers face challenges to reach the goals, it can be due to external environment & internal environment.

In the External environment volatility dominates uncertainty and ambiguity in most situations. May be a change in approach towards stake holders in the market place will surely bring some amount of progress.

At the same time in the internal environment to bring a progressive change depends a lot on motivational level of each team member, understanding of the roles & responsibilities of job profile by the individuals. Hence there is always a sense of ambiguity which dominates in the internal environment. This is the biggest challenge and barrier every people managers face day in and day out while handling teams.

Until every individual in the team don't cooperate in such situation its going to be very hard to overcome. During such situation when people managers reinforce the team members to execute the goal, those team members who are resistance to change look at the managers actions inappropriate towards them.

As people managers we should never give up on those individuals instead we should continuously reinforce and need to have patience while responding in such situations and always keep the eye focussed on larger picture instead of thinking about those individual team members showing an attitude of resistance to drive the expectation.

It's a continuous process in managing teams.
