Here it is - November's Edition of?Diary of a Female CEO!
?And it's on time. (Anyone would think I'd got my systems and processes figured out! ??)?
?The aim of this newsletter is to keep you informed on all things High Performance in a woman's world. Because let's face it - we need more support than ever right now.?
?Here's all that's juicy about the things I'm learning, the advice I'm giving and the life I'm living.?
??Grab a cuppa - we've got a lot to catch up on. ????
?Let's start with a run down of the most exciting event in my calendar this year?
24hrs left to get your ticket!!
?It's taken 3 years of getting my act together to FINALLY put this event on - and I'm sooo excited! Last few tickets remaining for this Friday in Manchester can be secured by clicking the link below. (I'll be doing a run down of 'successes and failures' for The Collective after this event has taken place to share the ups and downs of putting something like this on.)
So stay tuned!
Being Mum to an autistic son.
?You might remember last month I shared that Jaxson was excluded from his first primary school and then went on to have a happy life in his next school.
?Things were going so smoothly in his new secondary until - the inevitable happened.?
?Jaxson was beaten up by some older boys last week.
?Luckily - he was absolutely fine - his Dad would like us to use more empowering language than 'beaten up' but amongst my adult female friends I can't think of an empowering way to phrase it. That's the long and short of it.?
?He was shaken - but surprised that it did't hurt more than it did. (His words)
Jaxson is strong willed and believes in fairness and justice. So when he walked up to a year 10 who was smoking and told them they shouldn't be - he got a punch and some kicks in the ribs.?
?It's taught is as parents that we need to?work on him not interfering with other people's nonsense.
Which leads me to share with you - that sometimes it is so hard to feel like I am a good mum. That sometimes - I feel like I have failed.
Jaxson can't infer knowledge, read social situations very well, or navigate things he has never done before with patience. Which means - every sentence, every piece of information, every new situation; has to be handled with care.
?If I say to him - 'you need to follow the rules' - I don't always remember to say 'but some people wont follow the rules - and there are people who are paid to sort that out. It's not your job.'
?It's hard work.?
Sometimes I forget to remind him why people stand on the right on the London underground whilst people whizz past on the left. Sometimes I forget to remind him that people will knock into him and it's not personal. Sometimes I forget to remind him that people can say things and not mean them.?
?So today, after being a little hard on myself - I reminded myself of just how far we have come. Of the fact that Jaxson is learning so much and is turning into such a brilliant young man.?
We've wiped our eyes, licked our wounds; and?we are feeling much stronger.?
World News
The title of this month's Newsletter refers to the slogan being used by women in Iran who are on the frontlines fighting for their right to live a free life. Following the death of Mahsa Amini, 22 year old Kurdish Iranian there has been an uprising for the rights of women in Iran - and it is not slowing down.
To the world that is watching - speak up. Use your privilege.
And to the women on the ground - I wish I could do more than write LinkedIn posts and inform people of what’s going on.
I’ll think of a way.
To those who tell me we live in an equal world - your blindness is baffling.
It’s time for change.

Why Kanye West has lost all respect - and my boycott on adidas.
I have long loved Kanye's music - and always preferred a pair of adidas over a nike sports shoe - but I've decided to cut all ties with the brand and Kanye's music will no longer play under my roof.
Kanye's antisemitic spouting has caused a rise in disgraceful racist behaviour in the United States of America. His playground style tactic to get attention is unfortunately playing on the field with leading politicians and decision makers in one of the most influential countries in the world. This is not a game though.
I am exercising my right to boycott him and anyone affiliated with him. Ironically it was on the day that I nearly bought these shoes - that I saw his video at the infamous press conference. Adidas took far too long to make their response public - and so all of our adidas shoes have made their way to the charity shop. My question to you? What action can you possibly take to make a stand?
Excellent Finds and Entertainment
After that I think we all need a little lighthearted pick-me-up. A bit of dark fantasy to remind us of stability in life. And some of us need reminding of the need for feminism. This list has all three needs covered!?
?Here's this month's watch list.
House of The Dragon
Gosh. This deeply woven female centred fantasy drama is rich in customs and history that has seen men and women trapped for centuries. It's a must watch.
Gravity Falls
One for the pre-teens and adult children (me). This series has my favourite female protagonist ever in the whole wide world. Mabel.
Season 2 - The Handmaid's Tale
Not for the faint of heart - especially when you realise everything you see / read has indeed happened at some point in your lifetime. You need a strong stomach for this one.??

Why Don't You say something
This woman is everything. Like so many other women I have?worked with - she has been exploited by the coaching industry - but isn't scared to talk about it. She shares the unethical practices in the 'guru' world and makes me lol on a daily basis. Her account is growing fast - and that's because she hits the nail on the head. Go check out Eva Collins on?Instagram.?
Why do we do that?
?I love to learn - and I like doing it quickly. So when my mum messaged me with?this podcast?I was surprised in a good way to hear some of the most dense research being shared in an easily digestible and relatable way. My fave fact from binge listening to the whole series is that humans and just as much sniffers as dogs are. Crazy stuff.?
General news?at Lucienne HQ!
Apart from the Female Founders excitement, I am very proud to say that I have hired an ads strategist who I met in Edinburgh over a coffee - Kate will be helping me grow the number of eyeballs on the upcoming Academy cohort, webinars and summits so that we can continue to provide the amazing programmes at full capacity. I'll keep you posted on the outcome and if she's as good as I reckon she is - I'll share her deets with you. That means that we now have a core team - who although they are not all employed by Lucienne Coaching - feel like they are really, really working together well. I am no longer doing everything - and am enjoying learning to delegate in the way that I teach many of my clients to do!
I'm also very proud to be coaching a number of new 1:1 clients who are incredible female founders. These women are serious go getters - who are very mindful of the need to build High Performance teams and self coaching practices to bring their best selves to the world.?
I also couldn't be more proud of The Collective and what we are bringing to the community - this not for profit arm of the business is supporting seriously committed female founders who need more accountability in their lives. The feedback I get on a daily basis about how this group is changing lives lights me up more than you can imagine. For more details - make sure you?check out this link.?
Phew! There's so much more to share but it's an eyewateringly long Newsletter from me this?month.?
?Apologies for typos - I write this myself. Mild dyslexia stops me from seeing my own mistakes - but I'd rather write to you personally than have someone else do it.?
As ever - keep showing up, believe in your ability to create something BRILLIANT and go get 'em tiger. ??
?See some of you Leg Ends on Friday 4th November - only 3 sleeps left.
?Lots of love, always,
Lucienne ??

2 年Great read as always. It's quite cool to see another person's way of life and how they cope. About Jaxson, maybe you should go into his school and talk about his Autism? Let the kids know what you are both dealing with. I have gone into both my girl's school and did an assembly, and also some charity work for kids and adults with nut allergies, the risks and how it changes their lives. My youngest has this. It was quite a big hit and you can also educate the younger generation and also at the same time involve the school in some fun charity work. With your open mind and set of skills you could both smash that!! An assembly about "Autism" will bring a lot of interest, and it also gets others to open up. Also for me ( from my point of view) there are too many labels for kids and adults, autism, ADHD, spectrums etc. People are just who they are, we live with what we are born with and who is to say Jaxson is different from anyone else on this planet? I know a few people with "said condition" they have certain times of the day when they do things, like to have a routine, because it make them feel better. But I bet if you ask half the planet if they have a routine, the majority will say yes!
