#FunFact: "Procrastination is closely linked to various cognitive processes, including time management, self-control, and impulsivity. Individuals who struggle with procrastination may have difficulties prioritizing tasks, managing their time effectively, and resisting immediate gratification in favor of long-term goals."
Are you still waiting for the perfect alignment of the planets, the stars, and your neighbor’s dog not barking to start your podcast?
[NEWS FLASH] That day probably isn't coming!
It's time to kick those ridiculous excuses to the curb and dive headfirst into the world of podcasting.

1. "I don’t have the right equipment."
Solution: You don't need a recording studio in your basement. Grab a decent microphone, some headphones, and a quiet corner, and you're good to go! Remember, even the sound of your cat meowing in the background adds character.
2. "I’m not an expert in anything."
FYI...You do not need a Ph.D. to start a podcast. You need to simply share your experiences, your journey, your failures, and your successes. Your unique perspective is what makes you interesting, not your advanced degree.
3. "But I hate the sound of my own voice."
Did you know that most people hate the sound of their own voice at first? But guess what? Your voice is awesome, and people want to hear it! Embrace it, and soon enough, you’ll be loving every syllable.
4. "I don’t have time."
NONSENSE! We ALL have time for things that are important to us. Nobody has time until they make time. Schedule podcasting sessions like you would any other important meeting. Even if it’s just 30 minutes a week, consistency is key.
5. "What if nobody listens?"
So what if nobody listens at first? Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither was Joe Rogan’s podcast empire. Keep creating, keep improving, and eventually, they’ll come. Yes, if you build it, they will come.
6. "I need a catchy name first."
Sure, a catchy name is cute and all, but it’s not the be-all and end-all. Pick something that resonates with you and your brand. Don't get stuck in the land analysis paralysis. Choose something that compliments your brand and you. It's important to get feedback from others to make sure that it makes sense to everyone, not just you and your Mom.

7. "I’m waiting for the perfect topic."
You may be waiting indefinitely then. The perfect topic doesn’t exist. Start with something you’re passionate about, and let your podcast evolve naturally over time. What interests you? What industry are you in? What topics get you REALLY excited? What topics compliment your brand?
Remember, it’s okay to pivot!
8. "I’m not good at talking."
Practice makes perfect. The best way to get good at talking is to TALK! Start recording yourself talking about random topics, and with time, you’ll become a podcasting pro.
And hey, nobody’s perfect—embrace the occasional stumble and laugh it off.
The more reps you get in, the better of a communicator you will become.
9. "But what if I run out of things to say?"
Unless you’ve mastered the art of telepathy, I highly doubt you’ll ever run out of things to say. Keep a running list of topics, jot down ideas as they come to you, and never underestimate the power of a good ol’ rant. AI tools like, ChatGPT are great tools to come up with ideas and things to talk about.
Leverage those to your advantage.
10. "I’ll start next week/month/year."
Procrastination is the thief of dreams! There’s no time like the present, so stop making excuses and start recording today. Your future podcasting self will thank you.
So there you have it, no more excuses—time to unleash your inner podcaster and let your voice be heard.
Remember, the only thing standing between you and podcasting greatness is, well, you.
Now go forth and conquer the podcasting airwaves!
Happy podcasting ya'll!
