The High Cost of High Achievement: How to Avoid Burnout and Find Balance
From the conclusion: "Burnout is a complicated problem that can't be resolved by merely cutting back on work. Burnout is frequently caused by your phantom workload, a lack of challenges and a perceived lack of impact. As an individual worker, if you can address each of these problems, you will improve your job satisfaction and engagement and reduce your chances of burnout. More importantly, as leaders, we should work to improve the atmosphere at work by lowering the phantom work, appropriately challenging our people and distributing leadership duties. Remember that it's not just about how much work we produce; it's also about its quality, influence and impact."
